The Riverside Museum, Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel is the new home for Glasgow’s world-class Transport and Technology Collection. The Zaha Hadid-designed building is a masterpiece of architecture, a perfect complement to the stunning and exciting displays within. This exciting new attraction also offers several possibilities to clients seeking a topical and fascinating venue in which to hold corporate events such as private dinners, drinks receptions or meetings. The Museum’s magnificent collection can also be
enjoyed exclusively by guests attending a private evening event.
Riverside Museum can accommodate up to 1000 guests for an ‘access all areas’ standing reception and for a supplementary fee this type of event can be further enhanced for guests by the services of an expert-led guided tour of the collection.
Main Street is a magnificently atmospheric recreation of a typical Glasgow street spanning the years between 1895 and 1930. The setting is enhanced by authentic period shopfronts and accessible interiors. A subway station and typical vehicles of the period are also situated within the Main Street area. The Main Street is a superb location with a real difference for a standing reception for up to 120 guests.
The Café overlooks the River Clyde and gives visitors excellent views up and down the river and out to The Tall Ship Glenlee. The Café can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests for a standing reception and up to 80 people seated for a genuine Riverside dining experience. The Café is further enhanced by an attractive terraced patio directly outside. This area may also be used by guests attending an event within the Café area.
The Boardroom with superb views over the Rivers Clyde and Kelvin, offers a very attractive setting for private meetings and presentations attended by up to 35 guests in a theatre-style room layout or 20 in a boardroom arrangement. This venue space is available for weekend daytime hire only.
The Education Suite with superb river views, offers a very fflexible meeting space as it can be easily partitioned and therefore provide clients with two separate areas or one larger meeting room for up to 60 guests. This venue space is available for evening hire only.
Events Square Adjacent to the main entrance of the Museum, this is the second most spacious outdoor event space in Glasgow, after George square. It is a superbly landscaped outdoor area ideal for hosting a plethora of diverse events ranging from music concerts, to motor shows and rallies, sporting events such as volley ball, skateboarding and rat race adventures, as well as trade, fashion and award shows. It offers a great platform for companies to showcase their latest products and demonstrate it to the public.
The Tall Ship, Glenlee berthed on the Clyde immediately adjacent to Riverside Museum is a further option for events such as corporate functions or wedding receptions at Riverside. This unique venue can comfortably host up to 200 guests for a drinks reception or 150 for a more formal, seated dinner. Functions on The Tall Ship can be held below deck or (weather permitting) on the main deck of the vessel.
